South-Ural State Medical University

South Ural State Medical University is a higher medical education institution located in Ekaterinburg, Russia. The Ural State Medical University was established in 1931 as the Sverdlovsk Medical Institute. In 1995 the Sverdlovsk Medical Institute was renamed the Ural State Medical Academy. In 2013 the Ural State Medical Academy was granted university status and renamed the Ural State Medical University. In 2014 the Ural State University was added to the list of the best higher education institutions in the Commonwealth of Independent States. Today the Ural State Medical University has 1050 highly qualified teachers in 78 departments, who train 7800 students in 9 faculties. Ural State Medical University has provided more than 36,000 physicians to the world for 78 years.
